Microsoft Fabric brings data engineering, warehousing and reporting into one platform. That is powerful, and also a reason to be deliberate about how you start.
Start with one valuable use case. Choose a reporting need that matters to leaders and depends on data you already hold.
Design the foundations once. Agree naming, workspace structure, security and a layered approach to raw, cleaned and curated data before the number of datasets grows.
Plan capacity and licensing early. Capacity is a cost lever. Right-sizing it from the beginning avoids surprises later.
Build in governance from day one. Catalogue, ownership and access rules are far easier to establish at the start than to retrofit.
